Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and Alethic AI for the use of Alethic.

Last updated 26 July 2026 · Alethic AI · [email protected]

1. Who you are contracting with

Alethic is provided by Alethic AI (“we”, “us”). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Alethic service at iamalethic.ai.

Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the Merchant of Record for every subscription. Paddle.com Market Ltd is the seller of record on your invoice and card statement and handles billing, sales tax and VAT. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Where those terms govern the payment transaction and these Terms govern the service, each applies to its own subject matter.

2. What the service is

Alethic is a metacognitive AI reasoning environment delivered over the web. A membership gives you access to the Alethic chat experience: ambient and deep-analysis reasoning in a single surface, with the frames, grounds and blind spots of each answer surfaced alongside it.

Alethic produces analysis, not advice. It is a tool for structured thinking and its outputs are not legal, medical, financial or professional advice. You remain the author of any judgment you reach, and are responsible for how you use what the service produces.

We develop Alethic continuously and may add, change or remove features. Where a change materially reduces what your membership provides, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel under section 6.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use the service. You must give accurate registration details, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are for a single named individual — do not share your login.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to hold an account.

4. Free trial

New accounts start on a free trial: 3 days or 15 messages, whichever runs out first. No payment method is required to start it, and it does not convert into a paid subscription on its own — nothing is charged unless you choose to subscribe.

When the trial is spent you can still sign in and read your existing conversations; sending new messages requires a membership. One trial per person.

5. Membership, pricing and billing

The Alethic Membership costs $49 per month, charged in US dollars. This price excludes sales tax and VAT, which Paddle calculates and adds at checkout based on your location. The total you will be charged is always shown before you confirm payment.

The subscription renews automatically each month on the same payment method until you cancel. If a renewal payment fails, Paddle will retry it over a short period; your access continues during those retries and ends if payment is not recovered.

We may change the price of a membership. Existing subscribers will be notified before a change takes effect and may cancel before the next renewal if they do not wish to continue.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time. Your membership then runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not renewed.

Refunds, including statutory withdrawal rights, are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or produce material that is unlawful, harassing or deceptive;
  • resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as your own, or share one account across multiple people;
  • scrape, systematically extract, or attempt to reconstruct the underlying knowledge base or model behaviour in bulk;
  • probe, disrupt or circumvent the service’s security, rate limits or access controls;
  • use automated means to access the service outside any interface we provide for that purpose.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches this section. Where we close a paid account for a breach that was not deliberate, we will refund the unused portion of the current period.

8. Your content and our content

You keep ownership of what you put into Alethic and of the outputs generated for you. You grant us the limited licence needed to operate the service — to store, process and transmit your content so we can deliver it back to you, and to keep backups.

Alethic itself — the software, the interface, the curated knowledge base and the underlying methodology — remains ours or our licensors’. Your membership grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it, and nothing more.

AI systems can produce similar outputs for different people; we do not guarantee that any output is unique to you.

9. Availability and liability

We aim to keep Alethic available continuously but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Access may be paused for maintenance, or interrupted by failures in infrastructure we do not control.

The service is provided without warranties beyond those that cannot lawfully be excluded. In particular, we do not warrant that outputs are accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose — reviewing them is your responsibility.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions taken on the basis of the service’s output. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

10. Privacy

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give notice before it takes effect; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Contact

Questions about these Terms go to [email protected]. Billing questions can also be raised directly with Paddle at paddle.net.
